TO APPLY
Interested students must send in the following materials by the application deadline:

  • A completed application
  • College transcript (copies issued to students are acceptable)
  • A letter of recommendation from a professor or advisor. This should be sent directly from them in an email or sealed envelope.
  • Three (3) writing samples, preferably clips (e.g., news articles)
  • Typed responses (approx. 250 words each, please) to the following questions:
  • Why are you interested in a career in journalism?
  • What would you like to get out of this workshop and why?
  • What kind of journalist do you want to be? Why?

ELIGIBILTY & COST
Note that to be eligible students must have completed at least one year of college by the beginning of the workshop (i.e., be rising sophomores, juniors or seniors). Students will be selected competitively based on their career interest in journalism and demonstrated writing experience.

The program costs $350* (includes room & board), which is due from accepted students to secure their spot in the program. Travel to and from Middletown is each student's responsibility. There are no refunds.
